Back in early 2025, LOOP set out with one mission: to build the best-value fly rod on the market — a rod that delivers performance well beyond its price point. After months of testing and refining out in the wild, the result is the Trak series.

The Trak single-handed range covers the full spectrum, from delicate dry-fly and grayling work right through to modern predator fishing. Rather than simply scaling one blank across the line weights, LOOP has tailored each model to its intended use — different actions, grips and feel depending on what the rod is actually built to do on the water. Trout rods feel like trout rods; the heavier models carry the backbone you'd want for sea trout, salmon and pike.

Features

  • Well-engineered reel seat with a robust carbon insert for improved stability
  • Contoured AAA cork handle for comfort and longevity
  • High-quality rings with low-friction stripper guides for smooth, efficient casting
  • Unvarnished blank finish — cuts weight and gives a clean, modern look
  • Optimised in their weight class to balance water coverage and fly presentation

The Range

  • 23106 — 10'6" #2/3 (Twin Tip): An ultra-responsive rod built specifically for European-style nymphing. The lightest tactical Trak, offering extra reach to fine-tune and control your drift in all speeds of water. Supplied with two tips for adjustable sensitivity.
  • 490 — 9'0" #4: One of the lightest rods in the series. A deep, mid-fast flex rewards a smooth application of power, delivering the tiniest wet and dry flies with absolute delicacy to cautious species like trout and grayling.
  • 590 — 9'0" #5: The trout angler's staple workhorse. Designed to master dry flies, streamers and nymphs alike, with smooth tension and connectivity throughout the casting sequence for delicate presentation at range. Equally at home wading or from a drift boat.
  • 5100 — 10'0" #5: Built for both distance and delicacy when drifting and wading the river or lake. Silk-like smoothness for top-of-the-water tactics, with a mid-fast action and crisp tip recovery that inspires confidence on surface techniques.
  • 690 — 9'0" #6: A highly capable all-season rod, fine-tuned for floating and subsurface fishing on rivers and lakes. A more structured backbone than its lighter siblings gives confident lifting power and a great all-round rod that excels turning over flies at distance.
  • 6100 — 10'0" #6: Excellent for bank, wading and drift-boat fishing, with great flexibility for top-of-the-water and subsurface techniques on rivers and lakes. A light, smooth mid-flex action for efficient power transition through the blank.
  • 790 — 9'0" #7: An excellent choice for sea trout, steelhead and bomber fishing for Atlantic salmon — and great for cold-water coastal fishing too. The mid-fast flex offers a smooth, powerful transition of energy for precision and comprehensive water coverage.
  • 796 — 9'6" #7: Perfectly suited to environments that demand larger flies on floating and sinking lines, making it a great choice for migratory species. Whether throwing bombers to Atlantic salmon, intercepting sea trout or chasing steelhead, it performs across a range of conditions.
  • 7100 — 10'0" #7: The staple choice for a multitude of environments, from bomber techniques in Labrador to sea trout in Patagonia or stillwaters with modern techniques. Power reserve is structured deeper along the blank as longer casts are required — effortless distance without compromising sensitivity of the take.
  • 890 — 9'0" #8: An excellent selection for freshwater predator fishing for aggressive pike, as well as summer river fishing for sea trout and Atlantic salmon. Deep power reserve and fast tip recovery generate the line speed and confidence to turn over large flies in the most challenging conditions.
  • 990 — 9'0" #9: The powerful flagship, developed primarily for freshwater predator fishing. A solid backbone of power reserve lifts sinking lines to the surface and delivers large flies with efficiency and accuracy for apex predators like pike and muskie.
