The Griffith's Gnat is a brilliant midge cluster imitation that fools selective surface-feeding trout when they're mopping up tiny emerging midges. The palmered peacock herl body and grizzle hackle create a perfect silhouette of a cluster of midges in the surface film. An essential pattern on any stillwater or river where midge hatches occur — particularly effective in the slower stretches and flat pools where trout sip quietly.
